A little History
Afro picks became especially recognizable during the Black pride and natural-hair movements of the 1960s and 1970s. Wearing natural Afro-textured hair became more than a hairstyle for many people—it could also express cultural pride and a rejection of pressure to conform to Eurocentric beauty standards.
